Announcement    It's my annual shop cleaning time! If you need anything from my regular line, but it's not listed, please just convo and I will be happy to list a custom order for you. Thank you!! -Casey

Welcome! Most of my items are genuine vintage, many inherited from my Mother, a jewelry designer (and serious brass and "stash" hoarder :) for over 35 years.

My mother developed a "family secret" oxidizing process and solution and when she retired, she made me sign a non-disclosure agreement (just kidding/sort of :), so I can not disclose my process, but you can develop your own recipe using the same book she did (it's called The Colouring, Bronzing and Patination of Metals) which is available on Amazon.

As a third-generation artisan, I also have incorporated some new, made in the USA, items many of which I have hand oxidized giving them genuine, natural matte patina (not applied or painted, etc.). These items will say Vintage Style (or Sty) in the title and item details.

PLEASE NOTE: My pieces will NOT match other sellers' "black" findings (many of which are manufactured, power coated or imported with an "applied" finish) as I oxidize my findings by hand, giving them a genuine, natural patina with an authentic "old world", "worn" appeal as I also use a proprietary aging process prior to oxidizing.

Many of my brown/black findings will have a multi (two or three tone) patina. They can be used as is, gently buffed with extra-fine (#000) steel wool to achieve an antique gold, brass ox or bronze patina, or painted with Minwax stain for metal for a truly unique tone. They can also be painted to produce "faux" patina accents, such as touches of verdigris, etc., to achieve your own artistic patina to produce pieces that are as unique as your individual work and artisanship.

If you have any questions, please just convo. I look forward to answering any questions you may have. Thank you for visiting VintageBrassShop.com on etsy. -Casey

ps...I am a one-person operation and take great care to provide quality items at reasonable prices. In addition to hand oxidizing many items, I also take extra time and care to securely package all orders to ensure no damage occurs during shipping. I care deeply for the quality of my items, my work, and my customers and want you to be 110% happy with all of your items. You can get directly to my etsy shop online at www.VintageBrassShop.com or www.etsy.com/shop/VintageBrassShop.

Frequently asked questions

Do You Sell Wholesale?

I have many wholesale lots listed in my shop. Search "wholesale" at my shop to see the wholesale lots I currently have available. You can get to my etsy shop directly on the web at www.VintageBrassShop.com

In addition, wholesale pricing may be available on some pieces that I have a larger stock of if you interested in ordering the item in quantity.

If you have a particular item that you may be interested in ordering in quantity, I can quote you a price based on my stock and the quantity you are interested in ordering.

Please just convo me with the item title and the quantity you are interested in ordering and I will let you know if it is available wholesale and quote you a price if it is.

Do you have Tutorials, DIY Kits, design ideas and instructions for working with oxidized brass?

I have many DIY Kits, free tutorials and handy sizing charts. Visit my "DIY Kits | Tutorials Category at my etsy shop at https://www.VintageBrassShop.com

I also have a free online design studio with design ideas, tips and tricks for creating easy to make vintage style jewelry. Visit my online design studio at www.VintageStones.com

Whether you are new to jewelry making or an experienced designer, I'm think you will enjoy browsing the studio.

How can I tell the difference between Genuine Vintage Items and your New, Hand Oxidized Items?

Vintage items will say Vintage, Genuine Vintage or Old in the item title and item details.

My new, hand oxidized items will say Vintage Style (or Sty) in the title and item details.

My new, hand oxidized items are all genuine brass (naturally nickel and lead free) and Made in the USA.

I noticed many item sizes are shown in mm (millimeters). Do you have a chart to help to convert these measurements to inches?

Many sizes are stated in mm (or millimeters).

There are approximately 25mm to 1 inch.

So a size of 25x18mm would be about 1 inch by just under 3/4 inch.

Swarovski crystals and chaton (round) stones are stated in ss (stone size) or pp (pearl plate).

Sheet metal and wire is measured in gauge size and is usually shown as a number followed by g (for example 22g sheet metal).

Visit my shop DIY Kits | Tutorials category for charts that convert the above measurements to inches, millimeters, and carats.

What is the difference between natural and naturally occurring patina?

Most of my hand oxidized pieces have a natural (matte and unsealed) patina. Some items have been coated with a protective sealant (especially hand oxidized chain).

Naturally occurring patina are items that have a patina that has developed on it's own over the years.

Please see item details to determine whether the item is hand oxidized with natural patina, if the patina has been sealed, or whether it is naturally occurring patina.
